Knot Talk:
Steve spoke about the silence of drowning and provided a handout entitled “Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning” by Mario Vittone. He spoke about the importance of wearing a life jacket. In a cold water immersion a body experiences shock, then loses control of extremities and then hypothermia will set in. If a victim is drowning, there are no cries for help, no splashing. They are trying to keep their head above the water to breathe. Be watchful of those swimming around you and be ready to assist if you see they are in distress.
