The meeting was called to order at 7:21 p.m. The meeting start time was delayed due to Hudson’s Grill having a water issue and we had to find another location to host the meeting. We were able to get into Keegan’s Public House. The Minutes concerning the nominations for officers in the club were read. The following persons have been nominated to run for office:
Commodore – Steve Trofemuk
Vice Commodore – Brian Kuhnel
Purser – Becky Combs
Secretary – Bruce Lane
Steve Trofemuk stated that Susanne Johnson-Burns and Mike McKay volunteered to co-chair the Fleet Captain position. Bruce Lane made a motion to nominate the two to co-chair Fleet Captain and Steve seconded the motion.
There were 5 boats at the final raft up for 2026 to enjoy the moonrise.
As to upcoming events, Steven and Renae Gunter are launching their boat tomorrow, October 9th. Anyone willing to assist will be appreciated. Also, there is a Chili Cookoff at Chris Behnke’s home Saturday, October 10th.

The Turtle Rock Race will be October 17, 2026.
The Fall Colors Cruise is Friday, October 23rd to Sunday, October 25th. This date is also on the SWSC Facebook page under “Events”. The first night will be at Red Top Mountain but we are not to get there to tie up until after 5:00 p.m.
Commodore’s Ball is Saturday, November 7 beginning at 5:00 p.m. social time and dinner at 6 p.m. A Save the Date evite will be going out soon.

Fall Race #4 had two boats participating. Ben Moravich and Susanne. Ben came in first place both times with Susanne close behind.
Nominations for 2027 Officers
Bruce made a motion to accept the nominations for office for 2027 with Chris seconding the motion. The motion passed. The changeover of officers will occur at the Commodore’s Ball.

The account balance is $XXXXX. Money has been spent on the upcoming Commodore’s Ball.
Knot Talk: None.
New business. Ed Combs suggested that we take Bruce’s flyer he made about the SWSC club and add on the back of the flyer the races and events SWSC does as a club. Then laminate the flyers and put on each sailboat in the marina. Hopefully this will encourage others to join the club.
Old business: Ed also brought up Leiter’s Uniforms that has created the SWSC logo to go on shirts. The address is 1355 Church Street Extension, Suite E, Marietta, GA.
Sea Scouts – Gary Holcomb. Not in attendance.
