Sea Scouts Ship 100

South Winds Sailing Club sponsors the newly established Sea Scouts "Ship" 100 on Lake Allatoona. One of our long time club members, Gary Holcombe, is the skipper and volunteered to get the ship started on lake.

Atlanta Area Sea Scout Squadron - The Scouts are young men and women between the ages of 14 to 20. Many are older Boy Scouts looking to try something new in Scouting. The Sea Scouts is a branch of the Boy Scouts of America.

The scouts learn boat repair, maintenance, navigation, and spend lots of time on the water. Their home base is the Boy Scouts Aquatics base on Lake Allatoona. They have access to a full compliment of small, medium, and large sailboats. The Scouts are also encouraged to join in with the sailing club races.
