The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m.
A motion was made by Ed Combs to waive the reading of the minutes. It was seconded by Bruce Lane. The motion was passed.
A reminder was made that if you have not paid your club dues they are due now.
We had a new visitor, Keith Moxley. Keith has some sailing experience.
We still have a few burgees left for $17.80 each. See Chris for a burgee.

Sunset Sails have resumed, every Thursday, weather permitting.
There is a “Moonshine Cruise” overnight planned on April 12th in the Atlanta Yacht Club Cove. (What3Words location is “club.altitudes.reward. GPS location 34.130673, -84.66127534. Enjoy the full moon.
St. Thomas Weekend Cruise April 25, 26 and 27th. Victoria Harbor Marina, Sunset Grill first night. Saturday the group will either head northeast through the “S curves” toward Sweetwater/Fields Landing or west toward Red Top Mountain. Weather/winds will decide direction.
The Florida 120 is May 14 -18, 2025 in Pensacola, Florida. Currently, four boats from SWSC have signed up for this cruise.
The Lake Hartwell Cruise is set for June 6, 7, 8.
A “Beach Raft Up” on June 21, 2025. Those participating will beach their boats on the north shore of the lake (north of Harbor Town Island). The plan for this raft up is to start it around 3:00 p.m. to allow trailer sailors time to pull their boats from the water before dark. The tentative date for this is June 21, 2025. The other raft-ups on the calendar will be like previous raft ups.

Spring Races 1 - 5 boats participated. There was brisk winds.
2 – 3 boats, gusts 23-25 mph blowing SW. Suzanne single handedly won this race.
3 – scheduled for April 19.
Knot Talk - The talk was about onboard first aid. Basic First Aid – (1) Do not panic (a. Airway, b. breathing, c. circulation.) (2) Give location marker on lake, a landmark, type of vessel you have, type of emergency. There is the 3 Words app that is used on Lake Alatoona.
- Major injuries – get the person to a marina or dock as soon as possible and have emergency personnel waiting to pick them up.
- Heat exhaustion/stroke – move to shaded area, lay supine, elevate feet above level of head, give fluids.
- Strains/sprains – stabilize the affected joint, elevate and ice.
- Lacerations – stop bleeding.
- Burns/blisters – cool compress, leave skin intact.

60 to 70 percent of the members have paid their membership dues.
New business.
Nothing.
Old business: Commodore Ball. Discussion on finding bids from vendors to cater event. Renae Gunter spoke about using the decorations from previous Commodore Ball, rotating center pieces. There will be a committee and workers assigned to set up and take down.
Sea Scouts – Gary Holcomb. Sea Scouts have several boats for sale. Sea Scouts may come on race days to crew on boats.
